EN GARDE!

PROBLEM:

Fireplace Games came to us looking for help getting investment for and launching their game.

SOLUTION:

We worked closely with Fireplace to develop USPs, a tone of voice and a creative strategy for their comms. I also then developed a series of logo and UI ideas, Key Art concepts, sketches, and pieces of language that went on to create the backbone of their launch campaign. We also helped them create the look and feel for their investment pitch presentation, and I wrote and edited their Reveal trailer.

BEST TRAILERS OF 2023

Derek Lieu also named the En Garde! Reveal Trailer one of the best trailers of 2023 - focussing on the cut and flow. This is something I worked hard on with the the Fireplace team - giving them the structure, story, and edit of the trailer which enabled them to drop in more finished gameplay footage.

THE BRANDING

As part of the project I help them develop their branding and colour palette.

The GAME INTERFACE

I also worked on concepts for their UI, bringin some of the branding and iconography I was developing into the game.

THE KEY ART

I developed a concept for En Garde! to lean into film posters of swashbuckling movies of the early 1940s - this led to their final key art design below.

THE PITCH

I created the brand language, colour palette and design for their investment pitch deck, which led them to gain investment to finish and launch the game. Their pitch until this point had looked very corporate, so I gave it a more painterly, elaborate and textured feel to be inline with the style of the game.
